Role Summary
The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, scheduling, and managing volunteers at SAFE Camp, ensuring they are well-prepared, effectively deployed, and supported during their service. This role involves organizing volunteer assignments, conducting orientation sessions, tracking volunteer hours, and serving as the primary point of contact for volunteers throughout their deployment. By fostering a positive and supportive environment, the Volunteer Coordinator helps maximize volunteer impact and align efforts with camp needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Volunteer Recruitment and Scheduling: Coordinate recruitment efforts, schedule shifts, and assign volunteers to roles based on camp needs and individual skills.
- Orientation and Training: Conduct daily orientation sessions for new volunteers, covering camp rules, safety protocols, and assigned responsibilities.
- Volunteer Support and Communication: Serve as the main contact for volunteers, addressing questions, concerns, and providing ongoing support to enhance their experience.
- Attendance and Tracking: Monitor attendance, track volunteer hours, and maintain records for reporting and follow-up.
- Feedback and Evaluation: Collect feedback from volunteers and team leads, making adjustments to improve the volunteer program and recognizing individual contributions.

Working Conditions
This role requires on-site work in disaster-affected areas, often under demanding conditions. The Volunteer Coordinator may work irregular hours, including weekends and evenings, to accommodate volunteer schedules and support camp operations.
