Role Summary
The Supply Team Lead manages the procurement, storage, and distribution of essential supplies at SAFE Camp, ensuring that resources are readily available and efficiently allocated to support relief operations. This role oversees the supply team, monitors inventory levels, coordinates with the Logistics Director on restocking needs, and ensures that supplies are accessible to all camp teams as required. By maintaining organized inventory systems and effective distribution processes, the Supply Team Lead plays a crucial role in keeping operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels for essential items (e.g., food, water, medical supplies, hygiene kits), performing daily checks and updates to prevent shortages.
- Supply Procurement and Restocking: Coordinate with the Logistics Director to forecast supply needs and arrange timely restocking from vendors or donors.
- Distribution Coordination: Organize and manage the distribution of supplies to various teams (medical, kitchen, volunteer services), ensuring that each area has the resources required for operations.
- Team Supervision: Lead the supply team, assigning tasks, training team members on inventory protocols, and supervising daily operations to ensure accurate and efficient supply handling.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of inventory received, distributed, and used, preparing regular reports for the Logistics Director to track resource utilization.
Qualifications
- Experience in logistics, supply chain management, or inventory control, ideally in a humanitarian or disaster relief context.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to maintain an efficient supply flow.
- Leadership skills to supervise and coordinate a team in a high-demand environment.
- Proficiency in inventory tracking software or databases, with attention to detail for accurate record-keeping.
- Adaptability and problem-solving skills to manage urgent or changing supply needs.
Working Conditions
This position requires on-site work in disaster-affected areas, often under physically demanding and fast-paced conditions. The Supply Team Lead may work irregular hours, including weekends, to accommodate the supply needs of camp operations. The role demands flexibility, resilience, and the ability to respond to dynamic supply requirements, supporting critical relief efforts at SAFE Camp.
