Role Summary
The Equipment, Fuel, and Cleanup Team Member is responsible for ensuring that essential equipment and fuel are readily available, operational, and properly maintained during disaster relief efforts. This role involves setting up and monitoring equipment, managing fuel supplies, and performing cleanup tasks to keep the site safe, organized, and efficient for all team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Management: Set up, inspect, and maintain equipment as needed for disaster relief activities, ensuring all items are in safe working condition.
- Fuel Coordination: Monitor fuel levels, handle refueling for equipment and vehicles, and track fuel usage to support continuous operations.
- Site Cleanup and Organization: Perform daily cleanup tasks, including waste disposal, debris removal, and organization of work areas to ensure a safe and clean environment.
- Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Assist with minor repairs or report issues with equipment to the Logistics Team Lead for resolution.
- Coordination with Other Teams: Communicate with the Logistics Team Lead and other departments to prioritize equipment and fuel needs, adapting to the evolving requirements of the site.
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of equipment handling, fueling procedures, and safety protocols.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor, including lifting and carrying supplies.
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to identifying equipment or maintenance needs.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly under challenging conditions.
Working Conditions
This role involves physically demanding work in disaster-affected areas, often outdoors and in varying weather conditions. Team members may be required to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends, to support the needs of the relief operation.
